Brief description

Period apartment on the second floor of a historic stately home in the historic centre of Trevi, 30 metres from the main square. Comprising entrance hall, three bedrooms, bathroom, study and large kitchen with fireplace. Spacious, bright rooms with large windows and high ceilings. Restored with the original antique terracotta tile flooring.

Geographic position

The Painter’s Apartment is situated on the second floor of a pretty, stately palace in the highest part of Trevi’s historic centre, around 40 metres from the main square.

Trevi is one of Umbria’s most beautiful towns, perched on a hilltop and overlooking the whole of the Spoletina valley. Trevi is a people-friendly town, ideal for those who want to live in a peaceful location within easy reach of everything: restaurants, shops, the theatre, and which is a good base for visiting Umbria and Central Italy.

Logistically, the location is excellent: just 15 minutes from Spoleto, Spello and Foligno, well connected with the motorway, which is 5 minutes away and takes you to Rome in an hour and a half and to Florence in less than two hours.

The nearest airport is Perugia S. Egidio, half an hour’s drive away, while Rome Fiumicino airport is two hours away.

The new motorway, which takes you to Civitanova Marche and the Adriatic Sea in an hour and a quarter, is also convenient.

Description of buildings

The apartment is on the second floor of the palazzo, accessible from the main entrance via a pretty, convenient staircase. The apartment has just one floor and measures around 242 sq.m in total.

Inside comprises:

- An entrance hall

- A large living room with fireplace

- A spacious kitchen with dining area, also with fireplace

- A private sitting room with fireplace

- A study

- Three double bedrooms, two of which are particularly large

-  A bathroom

-  A storeroom

The rooms are very spacious, indicating the palazzo’s importance, and bright, with large windows overlooking Piazzetta della Rocca on one side and on another, the lanes with their pretty views and on the other side, out towards the hills and olive groves.

State and finishing

Both the palazzo and the apartment have been restored and are in excellent condition. All the rooms are the original size and feature high ceilings and stunning antique tile floors, which remain intact.

When you enter the house, you are transported back to a bygone age; its honest charm and the fact that it remains unchanged give you the immediate impression of being in a palazzo which is elegant, yet unpretentious at the same time.

Use and potential uses

The Painter’s Apartment is perfect for those looking for an authentic property with comfortable rooms in a peaceful location.

Trevi’s historic centre revolves around its main square; all your daily requirements are within easy reach without the need for a car, you can stroll around the area, which is flat in spite of being at the top of a hill, and become part of the small community.

At the same time, its proximity to Umbria’s most important art cities such as Spoleto, Spello, Assisi and Perugia, all within 30 minutes’ drive, and to Rome and Florence, Central Italy’s two main cities, just an hour and 45 minutes away, make this the ideal base for a second, holiday home.
